Chirang

Chirang is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Chirang is 1,923 km² including 1,910.94 km² rural area and 12.06 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Chirang has a population of 4,82,162 peoples, out of which urban population is 35,337 while rural population is 4,46,825. Chirang has a sex ratio of approximately 969 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 250.7 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 97,395 houses in the district, including 7,572 urban houses and 89,823 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 501 villages in chirang district.
