Darrang

Darrang is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Darrang is 1,585 km² including 1,572.61 km² rural area and 12.39 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Darrang has a population of 9,28,500 peoples, out of which urban population is 55,494 while rural population is 8,73,006. Darrang has a sex ratio of approximately 953 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 585.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,87,783 houses in the district, including 12,432 urban houses and 1,75,351 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 552 villages in darrang district.
