Darrang is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Darrang is 1,585 km² including 1,572.61 km² rural area and 12.39 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Darrang has a population of 9,28,500 peoples, out of which urban population is 55,494 while rural population is 8,73,006. The district has a population density of 585.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,87,783 houses in the district, including 12,432 urban houses and 1,75,351 rural houses.
