Dhemaji is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Dhemaji is 3,237 km² including 3,221.45 km² rural area and 15.55 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Dhemaji has a population of 6,86,133 peoples, out of which urban population is 48,285 while rural population is 6,37,848. The district has a population density of 212 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,29,869 houses in the district, including 10,231 urban houses and 1,19,638 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,264 villages in dhemaji district.
