Hailakandi

Hailakandi is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Hailakandi is 1,327 km² including 1,316.47 km² rural area and 10.53 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Hailakandi has a population of 6,59,296 peoples, out of which urban population is 48,140 while rural population is 6,11,156. Hailakandi has a sex ratio of approximately 951 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 496.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,43,350 houses in the district, including 10,259 urban houses and 1,33,091 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 330 villages in hailakandi district.
