Jorhat

Jorhat is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Jorhat is 2,851 km² including 2,758.82 km² rural area and 92.18 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Jorhat has a population of 10,92,256 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,20,534 while rural population is 8,71,722. Jorhat has a sex ratio of approximately 961 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 383.1 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,36,262 houses in the district, including 51,620 urban houses and 1,84,642 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 763 villages in jorhat district.
