Morigaon is a district in the Assam State of India. Total area of Morigaon is 1,551 km² including 1,525.50 km² rural area and 25.50 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Morigaon has a population of 9,57,423 peoples, out of which urban population is 73,298 while rural population is 8,84,125. The district has a population density of 617.3 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,84,602 houses in the district, including 16,157 urban houses and 1,68,445 rural houses.
