Bhagalpur is a district in the Bihar State of India. Total area of Bhagalpur is 2,569 km² including 2,499.90 km² rural area and 69.10 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Bhagalpur has a population of 30,37,766 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,02,532 while rural population is 24,35,234. The district has a population density of 1182 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,64,711 houses in the district, including 1,06,303 urban houses and 4,58,408 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 966 villages in bhagalpur district.
