Darbhanga is a district in the Bihar State of India. Total area of Darbhanga is 2,279 km² including 2,211.47 km² rural area and 67.53 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Darbhanga has a population of 39,37,385 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,83,328 while rural population is 35,54,057. The district has a population density of 1728 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 8,03,012 houses in the district, including 73,912 urban houses and 7,29,100 rural houses.
