Purnia

Purnia is a district in the Bihar State of India. Total area of Purnia is 3,229 km² including 3,100.82 km² rural area and 128.18 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Purnia has a population of 32,64,619 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,43,005 while rural population is 29,21,614. Purnia has a sex ratio of approximately 921 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1011 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,47,777 houses in the district, including 66,414 urban houses and 5,81,363 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,113 villages in purnia district.

The Purnia district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
