Chandigarh is a district in the Chandigarh Union Territory of India. Total area of Chandigarh is 114 km² including 4.47 km² rural area and 109.53 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Chandigarh has a population of 10,55,450 peoples, out of which urban population is 10,26,459 while rural population is 28,991. Chandigarh has a sex ratio of approximately 817 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 9258 inhabitants per square kilometre.
