Daman is a district in the Daman & Diu Union Territory of India. Total area of Daman is 72 km² including 35.14 km² rural area and 36.86 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Daman has a population of 1,91,173 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,58,860 while rural population is 32,313. The district has a population density of 2655 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 50,376 houses in the district, including 42,963 urban houses and 7,413 rural houses.
