Solan

Solan is a district in the Himachal Pradesh State of India. Total area of Solan is 1,936 km² including 1,902.63 km² rural area and 33.37 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Solan has a population of 5,80,320 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,02,147 while rural population is 4,78,173. Solan has a sex ratio of approximately 879 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 300 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,22,425 houses in the district, including 25,915 urban houses and 96,510 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 2,383 villages in solan district.

The Solan district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
