Palamu
Palamu is a district in the Jharkhand State of India. Total area of Palamu is 4,393 km² including 4,308.56 km² rural area and 84.44 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Palamu has a population of 19,39,869 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,26,003 while rural population is 17,13,866. Palamu has a sex ratio of approximately 927 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 441.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,58,754 houses in the district, including 39,926 urban houses and 3,18,828 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,711 villages in palamu district.
The Palamu district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
