Purbi Singhbhum is a district in the Jharkhand State of India. Total area of Purbi Singhbhum is 3,562 km² including 3,373.63 km² rural area and 188.37 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Purbi Singhbhum has a population of 22,93,919 peoples, out of which urban population is 12,74,591 while rural population is 10,19,328. The district has a population density of 644 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,76,931 houses in the district, including 2,58,771 urban houses and 2,18,160 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,609 villages in purbi singhbhum district.
