Alappuzha is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Alappuzha is 1,415 km² including 864.89 km² rural area and 550.11 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Alappuzha has a population of 21,27,789 peoples, out of which urban population is 11,48,146 while rural population is 9,79,643. Alappuzha has a sex ratio of approximately 1100 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1504 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,35,958 houses in the district, including 2,87,342 urban houses and 2,48,616 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 51 villages in alappuzha district.
