Alappuzha is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Alappuzha is 1,415 km² including 864.89 km² rural area and 550.11 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Alappuzha has a population of 21,27,789 peoples, out of which urban population is 11,48,146 while rural population is 9,79,643. The district has a population density of 1504 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,35,958 houses in the district, including 2,87,342 urban houses and 2,48,616 rural houses.
