Palakkad is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Palakkad is 4,482 km² including 4,082.31 km² rural area and 399.69 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Palakkad has a population of 28,09,934 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,76,810 while rural population is 21,33,124. The district has a population density of 627 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,37,220 houses in the district, including 1,54,935 urban houses and 4,82,285 rural houses.
