Palakkad

Palakkad is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Palakkad is 4,482 km² including 4,082.31 km² rural area and 399.69 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Palakkad has a population of 28,09,934 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,76,810 while rural population is 21,33,124. Palakkad has a sex ratio of approximately 1066 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 627 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,37,220 houses in the district, including 1,54,935 urban houses and 4,82,285 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 131 villages in palakkad district.
