Wayanad

Wayanad is a district in the Kerala State of India. Total area of Wayanad is 2,130 km² including 2,089.26 km² rural area and 40.74 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Wayanad has a population of 8,17,420 peoples, out of which urban population is 31,580 while rural population is 7,85,840. Wayanad has a sex ratio of approximately 1034 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 384 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,90,894 houses in the district, including 7,519 urban houses and 1,83,375 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 48 villages in wayanad district.

The Wayanad district is further divided in to Talukas / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
