Dhar

Dhar is a district in the Madhya Pradesh State of India. Total area of Dhar is 8,153 km² including 7,921.54 km² rural area and 231.46 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Dhar has a population of 21,85,793 peoples, out of which urban population is 4,13,221 while rural population is 17,72,572. Dhar has a sex ratio of approximately 964 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 268.1 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,25,914 houses in the district, including 86,741 urban houses and 3,39,173 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,477 villages in dhar district.

The Dhar district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
