Katni

Katni is a district in the Madhya Pradesh State of India. Total area of Katni is 4,950 km² including 4,849.39 km² rural area and 100.61 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Katni has a population of 12,92,042 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,63,543 while rural population is 10,28,499. Katni has a sex ratio of approximately 951 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 261 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,89,551 houses in the district, including 56,429 urban houses and 2,33,122 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 905 villages in katni district.

The Katni district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
