Sagar

Sagar is a district in the Madhya Pradesh State of India. Total area of Sagar is 10,252 km² including 10,054.23 km² rural area and 197.77 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Sagar has a population of 23,78,458 peoples, out of which urban population is 7,08,796 while rural population is 16,69,662. Sagar has a sex ratio of approximately 893 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 232 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,17,850 houses in the district, including 1,38,413 urban houses and 3,79,437 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,901 villages in sagar district.

The Sagar district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
