Umaria is a district in the Madhya Pradesh State of India. Total area of Umaria is 4,076 km² including 3,923.18 km² rural area and 152.82 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Umaria has a population of 6,44,758 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,10,544 while rural population is 5,34,214. Umaria has a sex ratio of approximately 949 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 158.2 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,45,024 houses in the district, including 23,783 urban houses and 1,21,241 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 594 villages in umaria district.
