Nanded is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Nanded is 10,528 km² including 10,286.69 km² rural area and 241.31 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Nanded has a population of 33,61,292 peoples, out of which urban population is 9,13,898 while rural population is 24,47,394. The district has a population density of 319.3 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 6,65,434 houses in the district, including 1,71,093 urban houses and 4,94,341 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,541 villages in nanded district.
The Nanded district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes. In India, the Block or C.D.Block is often the next level of administrative division after the tehsil. It is important to note that, In some states of India C.D.Blocks are equal to tehsils.
