Lunglei

Lunglei is a district in the Mizoram State of India. Total area of Lunglei is 4,536 km² including 4,470.00 km² rural area and 66.00 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Lunglei has a population of 1,61,428 peoples, out of which urban population is 68,752 while rural population is 92,676. Lunglei has a sex ratio of approximately 947 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 35.59 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 33,058 houses in the district, including 14,115 urban houses and 18,943 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 161 villages in lunglei district.

The Lunglei district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes. In India, the Block or C.D.Block is often the next level of administrative division after the tehsil. It is important to note that, In some states of India C.D.Blocks are equal to tehsils.
