Karaikal

Karaikal is a district in the Puducherry Union Territory of India. Total area of Karaikal is 157 km² including 118.70 km² rural area and 38.30 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Karaikal has a population of 2,00,222 peoples, out of which urban population is 98,102 while rural population is 1,02,120. Karaikal has a sex ratio of approximately 1047 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 1275 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 49,705 houses in the district, including 24,184 urban houses and 25,521 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 28 villages in karaikal district.
