Puducherry

Puducherry is a district in the Puducherry Union Territory of India. Total area of Puducherry is 294 km² including 216.74 km² rural area and 77.26 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Puducherry has a population of 9,50,289 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,57,209 while rural population is 2,93,080. Puducherry has a sex ratio of approximately 1029 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 3232 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,31,513 houses in the district, including 1,62,016 urban houses and 69,497 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 62 villages in puducherry district.
