Namakkal

Namakkal is a district in the Tamil Nadu State of India. Total area of Namakkal is 3,420 km² including 3,119.43 km² rural area and 300.57 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Namakkal has a population of 17,26,601 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,96,125 while rural population is 10,30,476. Namakkal has a sex ratio of approximately 986 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 505 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,75,511 houses in the district, including 1,92,263 urban houses and 2,83,248 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 362 villages in namakkal district.
