Thoothukkudi District, Tamil Nadu

Thoothukkudi is an administrative district in Tamil Nadu, India. The district is located about 600 km from Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Its administrative headquarters is in Thoothukudi. Tamil is the major language spoken in the district. The district covers a total area of 4,745 km², including 4,330.20 km² of rural area and 414.80 km² of urban area.
