Tiruchirappalli is a district in the Tamil Nadu State of India. Total area of Tiruchirappalli is 4,509 km² including 4,042.74 km² rural area and 466.26 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Tiruchirappalli has a population of 27,22,290 peoples, out of which urban population is 13,38,033 while rural population is 13,84,257. Tiruchirappalli has a sex ratio of approximately 1013 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 604 inhabitants per square kilometre.
