Vellore District, Tamil Nadu

Vellore District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 140 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Vellore. Tamil and Telugu are the main languages spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 6,075 km², including 5,531.10 km² of rural area and 543.90 km² of urban area.
