Virudhunagar District, Tamil Nadu

Virudhunagar District is an administrative district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is situated about 540 km from Chennai, the state capital of Tamil Nadu. The district headquarters is located at Virudhunagar. Tamil is the main language spoken in the district. The district covers a total geographical area of 4,241 km², including 3,794.30 km² of rural area and 446.70 km² of urban area.
