West Tripura

West Tripura is a district in the Tripura State of India. Total area of West Tripura is 2,993 km² including 2,779.18 km² rural area and 213.82 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, West Tripura has a population of 17,25,739 peoples, out of which urban population is 6,77,638 while rural population is 10,48,101. West Tripura has a sex ratio of approximately 962 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 576.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,10,565 houses in the district, including 1,68,241 urban houses and 2,42,324 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 281 villages in west tripura district.

The West Tripura district is further divided in to Subdivisions / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes. In India, the Block or C.D.Block is often the next level of administrative division after the tehsil. It is important to note that, In some states of India C.D.Blocks are equal to tehsils.
