Champawat is a district in the Uttarakhand State of India. Total area of Champawat is 1,766 km² including 1,752.96 km² rural area and 13.04 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Champawat has a population of 2,59,648 peoples, out of which urban population is 38,343 while rural population is 2,21,305. The district has a population density of 147 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 53,953 houses in the district, including 8,212 urban houses and 45,741 rural houses.
