Garhwal

Garhwal is a district in the Uttarakhand State of India. Total area of Garhwal is 5,329 km² including 5,256.84 km² rural area and 72.16 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Garhwal has a population of 6,87,271 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,12,703 while rural population is 5,74,568. Garhwal has a sex ratio of approximately 1102 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 129 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,61,778 houses in the district, including 25,598 urban houses and 1,36,180 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 3,142 villages in garhwal district.
