Uttarkashi

Uttarkashi is a district in the Uttarakhand State of India. Total area of Uttarkashi is 8,016 km² including 7,988.98 km² rural area and 27.02 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Uttarkashi has a population of 3,30,086 peoples, out of which urban population is 24,305 while rural population is 3,05,781. Uttarkashi has a sex ratio of approximately 957 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 41 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 67,602 houses in the district, including 5,688 urban houses and 61,914 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 694 villages in uttarkashi district.

The Uttarkashi district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
