South Twenty Four Parganas

South Twenty Four Parganas is a district in the West Bengal State of India. Total area of South Twenty Four Parganas is 9,960 km² including 9,541.28 km² rural area and 418.72 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, South Twenty Four Parganas has a population of 81,61,961 peoples, out of which urban population is 20,87,773 while rural population is 60,74,188. South Twenty Four Parganas has a sex ratio of approximately 955 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 819.5 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 17,81,221 houses in the district, including 4,82,962 urban houses and 12,98,259 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,994 villages in south twenty four parganas district.
