Bastar

Bastar is a district in the Chhattisgarh State of India. Total area of Bastar is 10,470 km² including 10,296.29 km² rural area and 173.71 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Bastar has a population of 14,13,199 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,93,494 while rural population is 12,19,705. Bastar has a sex ratio of approximately 1023 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 135 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,11,538 houses in the district, including 43,280 urban houses and 2,68,258 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,128 villages in bastar district.

The Bastar district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
