Chhattisgarh

Chhattisgarh is an Indian state located in the Central region of India. It was established on 01-Nov-2000. The capital of the state is Raipur. The official language is Hindi. Additional official language includes Chhattisgarhi. Major rivers include Mahanadi, Indravati, Sheonath, Hasdeo.

As per Census 2011, the total area of the state is 135,192 square kilometres, including 131,940 square kilometres of rural area and 3,252 square kilometres of urban area.

The state has a unicameral legislature with 11 Lok Sabha seats, 5 Rajya Sabha seats, 90 Vidhan Sabha seats. Judicial matters are handled by the Chhattisgarh High Court. Chhattisgarh shares borders with Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh.
