Durg

Durg is a district in the Chhattisgarh State of India. Total area of Durg is 8,535 km² including 7,980.14 km² rural area and 554.86 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Durg has a population of 33,43,872 peoples, out of which urban population is 12,84,765 while rural population is 20,59,107. Durg has a sex ratio of approximately 987 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 391.8 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 7,01,707 houses in the district, including 2,77,413 urban houses and 4,24,294 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,761 villages in durg district.

The Durg district is further divided in to Tehsils / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
