Mahasamund is a district in the Chhattisgarh State of India. Total area of Mahasamund is 4,790 km² including 4,730.68 km² rural area and 59.32 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Mahasamund has a population of 10,32,754 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,20,152 while rural population is 9,12,602. The district has a population density of 215.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,48,561 houses in the district, including 27,026 urban houses and 2,21,535 rural houses.
