Anantnag is a district in the Jammu & Kashmir State of India. Total area of Anantnag is 3,574 km² including 3,475.76 km² rural area and 98.24 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Anantnag has a population of 10,78,692 peoples, out of which urban population is 2,82,887 while rural population is 7,95,805. The district has a population density of 302 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,53,640 houses in the district, including 35,992 urban houses and 1,17,648 rural houses.
