Kathua

Kathua is a district in the Jammu & Kashmir State of India. Total area of Kathua is 2,502 km² including 2,458.84 km² rural area and 43.16 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kathua has a population of 6,16,435 peoples, out of which urban population is 89,713 while rural population is 5,26,722. Kathua has a sex ratio of approximately 890 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 246 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,19,583 houses in the district, including 17,932 urban houses and 1,01,651 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 496 villages in kathua district.
