Kupwara is a district in the Jammu & Kashmir State of India. Total area of Kupwara is 2,379 km² including 2,331.66 km² rural area and 47.34 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kupwara has a population of 8,70,354 peoples, out of which urban population is 1,04,729 while rural population is 7,65,625. The district has a population density of 366 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,13,929 houses in the district, including 11,999 urban houses and 1,01,930 rural houses.
