Srinagar

Srinagar is a district in the Jammu & Kashmir State of India. Total area of Srinagar is 1,979 km² including 1,684.47 km² rural area and 294.53 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Srinagar has a population of 12,36,829 peoples, out of which urban population is 12,19,516 while rural population is 17,313. Srinagar has a sex ratio of approximately 899 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 625 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 1,91,678 houses in the district, including 1,88,834 urban houses and 2,844 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 11 villages in srinagar district.
