Bellary is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Bellary is 8,461 km² including 8,048.73 km² rural area and 412.27 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Bellary has a population of 24,52,595 peoples, out of which urban population is 9,20,239 while rural population is 15,32,356. Bellary has a sex ratio of approximately 982 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 290 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 4,89,118 houses in the district, including 1,93,860 urban houses and 2,95,258 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 522 villages in bellary district.
