Chitradurga is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Chitradurga is 8,436 km² including 8,295.99 km² rural area and 140.01 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Chitradurga has a population of 16,59,456 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,29,533 while rural population is 13,29,923. The district has a population density of 197 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,57,003 houses in the district, including 73,334 urban houses and 2,83,669 rural houses.
