Kolar

Kolar is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Kolar is 3,979 km² including 3,858.05 km² rural area and 120.95 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kolar has a population of 15,36,401 peoples, out of which urban population is 4,80,073 while rural population is 10,56,328. Kolar has a sex ratio of approximately 978 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 386 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,33,348 houses in the district, including 1,06,290 urban houses and 2,27,058 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,608 villages in kolar district.
