Udupi

Udupi is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Udupi is 3,582 km² including 3,338.33 km² rural area and 243.67 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Udupi has a population of 11,77,361 peoples, out of which urban population is 3,34,061 while rural population is 8,43,300. Udupi has a sex ratio of approximately 1094 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 329 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 2,53,078 houses in the district, including 75,549 urban houses and 1,77,529 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 233 villages in udupi district.

The Udupi district is further divided in to Talukas / Blocks / PS / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks) for administrative purposes.
