Uttara Kannada is a district in the Karnataka State of India. Total area of Uttara Kannada is 10,277 km² including 10,024.22 km² rural area and 252.78 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Uttara Kannada has a population of 14,37,169 peoples, out of which urban population is 4,18,981 while rural population is 10,18,188. The district has a population density of 140 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 3,24,530 houses in the district, including 95,643 urban houses and 2,28,887 rural houses.
