Chandrapur is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Chandrapur is 11,443 km² including 11,152.40 km² rural area and 290.60 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Chandrapur has a population of 22,04,307 peoples, out of which urban population is 7,75,378 while rural population is 14,28,929. The district has a population density of 192.6 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 5,36,686 houses in the district, including 1,80,458 urban houses and 3,56,228 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,463 villages in chandrapur district.
