Kolhapur

Kolhapur is a district in the Maharashtra State of India. Total area of Kolhapur is 7,685 km² including 7,344.96 km² rural area and 340.04 km² urban area. As per 2011 stats, Kolhapur has a population of 38,76,001 peoples, out of which urban population is 12,30,009 while rural population is 26,45,992. Kolhapur has a sex ratio of approximately 956 females for every 1,000 males. The district has a population density of 504.4 inhabitants per square kilometre. There are about 8,40,240 houses in the district, including 2,71,721 urban houses and 5,68,519 rural houses. When it comes to villages, there are about 1,195 villages in kolhapur district.
